Before we get any further, let me tell you a bit about “Mind Your Bite”.

What is “Mind Your Bite”?

It’s website about mindful eating and how to incorporate more mindfulness into your everyday life.

It includes:

A blog archive split into 3 categories:

  • Mindful Eating: articles featuring all aspects of mindful eating.
  • Healthy Body: articles on how to nourish your body and stay in good shape.
  • Healthy Mind: articles on how to cultivate positive body image, relieve stress and find peace in life.

Why it comes to be

I was once obsessed with weight loss. I used to believe dieting is the only way of getting in shape.

I submerged myself in the diet culture, obsessed with things like counting calories, ditching carbs and sugars, starving myself, etc.

One day, it dawned on me:

Losing weight is not a cure, but a slow poison. It has cost me my joy of eating, self-image and relationships.

I also came to realize:

I only want to be thin because it’s what the media and weight loss industry tells me to. What I truly isn’t to drop pounds, but to have health to carry out my daily tasks with ease.

So, I stopped dieting altogether.

I eat what I like and how much I want to. I enjoy what I eat and feel satisfied after each meal.

But I find that most people are not ready to ditch dieting.

Here’s why:

  • They don’t like their current shape and desperately want to lose weight.
  • They can’t find a better alternative to dieting.

I count myself very lucky. Because I’ve found a way to cope with these issues.

Which is through mindful eating.

I’ve done many diets and found that they are mostly centered on food restrictions.

Mindful eating, on the other hand, focuses on food enjoyment and fulfillment. Meaning there’s no restrictions. You can eat what you like and whenever you feel hungry.

When you eat mindfully, you think of nothing else but eating. You chew each bite with care. As a result, you’ll feel full faster and enjoy a lasting meal satisfaction.

When I practice mindful eating, I have less cravings. Before that, as I still did diets, I used to be hungry all the time. I feel much healthier and stronger now. I love my body and know it’s getting fitter everyday.

That’s why I start this blog. To share with you the wonderful power of mindful eating.

No matter what shape you are now, you can get into your perfect shape, not by restricting what you eat or starving yourself, but by being mindful about it.

That said, this website isn’t for everyone.

Who is it not for?

If you want to lose weight fast and enjoy mistreating your body, if you are close minded and not willing to change, if you are still deeply attached to the diet culture, you might be ready for the content of “Mind Your Bite”.

But if you’re ready for a change, I welcome you with a big warm hug.

A bit about me

My name is Naomi Pham. I’d like to call myself a writer ~ because I enjoy writing a lot. I can find my published work on Medium, Craft Your Content, and Aha-now.

When I’m not writing, I read books, newsletters, watch movies, or hang out with friends. I enjoy very much of a simple life.
